Van der Pas also develops statistical methods to detect those relationships wherever possible, so that we can answer questions in all sorts of fields (such as medicine, psychology and economics) without needing to collect data specifically for this purpose. As a Young Academy member, she wishes to focus on promoting equal opportunities in science.
