Bieke Cattoor

Bieke Cattoor explores landscape imagination, focusing on everyday urban environments. Her work is both analytical and design-based – integrating insights from the humanities, the exact sciences and the social sciences – and contributes to a more liveable, sustainable, and resilient city.

In Dutch

Graphic research results have been showcased at international exhibitions, museums, and arts centres. In Flanders, she re-imagined the relationship between infrastructure and landscape. She is currently working with citizen scientists and urban stakeholders to re-imagine the Randstad conurbation as a gardens complex and Randstad residents as the gardeners of a more social and ecological living environment. Within The Young Academy, she represents the designing sciences, and aims to promote a more diverse approach to knowledge creation, acquisition, and communication.
