Mingler Live brings scientists and artist together so that they can inspire one another and explore how their two worlds might collaborate. During this annual event, artists and scientists discover what they have in common and what interests they share, using the ‘slow dating’ method. What appeals to you or makes you long for collaboration? By getting participants to talk to one another about their research and experiences, we hope that they will gain inspiration for future projects.
The event includes presentations on current collaboration projects and ample opportunity for participants to meet new scientists or artists beyond their existing network.
The next Mingler Live has yet to be scheduled. The event usually takes place in the autumn. Once the date has been confirmed, we will announce it on this page and place it on the calendar.

Mingler is a network by and for artists and scientists who are eager to work together and open to the idea of exploration and experimentation. Mingler spotlights makers and thinkers who are curious about one another and who would like to ‘mingle’ with other artists and scientists in order to explore and enter into partnerships with them.
The initiative is intended for scientists and artists who have already initiated activities at the interface of art and science – for example a publication, art object, exhibition, film, or creative industry project – or who have tangible ideas for an art-science project. Network participants should be highly motivated to meet and engage with people active in different disciplines in science and the arts.
Some 300 ‘Minglers’ have currently joined the network, including members of The Young Academy, the Society of Arts, the Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences, the Rijksakademie, the Dutch Foundation for Literature, the ArtScience Honours Programme, the Artist in Residence Fellows of the Netherlands Institute of Advanced Studies (NIAS), the Royal Netherlands Institute in Rome (KNIR), and many more.
