Femius Koenderink professor at the Institute of Physics of the University of Amsterdam

AMOLF group leader Femius Koenderink and member of The Young Academy has been appointed professor at the Institute of Physics of the University of Amsterdam as of 1st of August.

Koenderink studied both physics and mathematics at the University of Utrecht, and received his PhD degree in experimental physics at the University of Amsterdam cum laude in 2003. After a postdoc period at ETH Zurich (Switzerland) he joined AMOLF in 2005 as a postdoc in the context of a NWO-Veni grant. In 2008 he started the group Resonant Photonics at AMOLF, where he studies the use of plasmonic and metamaterial antennas to create single photon sources and receivers. He received a NWO-Vidi grant in 2009.
