The Dutch Young Academy and the Global Young Academy are jointly organizing a 2-day symposium to foster collaboration between existing National Young Academies and to help establish additional Young Academies. The symposium will be held on 31 October and 1 November 2012 in Amsterdam.

On 25 November TEDxAmsterdam will organize its next event where inspiring speakers bring ideas to the world. In this edition Eveline Crone and David Lentink will be two of the speakers.
The Young Academy has added ten outstanding scientists and scholars to its membership. The latest group of new members will be inducted on 16 March 2012 during an official ceremony held in the Trippenhuis Building of the Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences.
A local hub has been founded in Amsterdam on 25 October, The Netherlands, consisting of 19 young Dutch people between 20-30 years from all sectors of society, who are exceptional in their potential and recognized for their achievements and drive to make a contribution to our society.
On the 28th of October Asghar Seyed-Gohrab organizes a meeting about Persian literature in the beginning of the twentieth Century. The meeting has a multidiscipinary character. One of the questions is how poetry has been used to introduce Western political ideas in the Middle East.
The South African Young Academy of Science (SAYAS) has been inaugurated on 27 September 2011 in Pretoria.
The first 20 founding members come from institutions across South Africa and represent excellence in natural science and humanities.
